Early Life and Career 

Kamalpreet Kaur was born to his father Kuldeep Singh on March 4,1996 on Kabarwala, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab, India. 

During her school days, Kaur used to stand out in athletics, so much so that his P.E teacher had to advise her to take up a career in athletics. She decided to listen to the advice of her Physical Education teacher and took up athletics seriously. Kamalpreet Kaur started practicing hard and in no time she featured in athletics at the U-18 and U-20 level where she emerged the National Champions at both levels in discus throw.

Kamalpreet Kaur later competed in 29^th World University Games, where she finished 6^th. In that same year, she also competed in the Asian Athletics Championships, this time she finished fifth. 

History was made Kamalpreet Kaur at the 24^th Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships where she broke the 65m barrier that was set by her predecessor thereby becoming the first Indian female to achieve such a feat. At the tournament, she finished top of the podium. She also qualified for the Tokyo Olympics after setting a new record of 65.06m at the 24^th Federation Cup Senior Athletics Championships which was held in Patiala. 

At the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Kamalpreet Kaur represented India at the discus throw, finishing sixth.
